The main feature of the garden is Letcombe
Brook which bubbles its way through the centre of the garden. It is a chalk
stream with wild watercress, reeds, iris, water forget-me-nots, water mint
and much more. There are some lovely areas for sitting and watching the local
wildlife: trout, ducks, moorhens, coots, herons and the kingfishers that speed
up and down the stream.
We also have a wild flower meadow which with each year is becoming more and
more beautiful and is always fun to walk through and see all those flowers
that we used to see growing in the hedgerows during our childhood.
The orchard is a new addition to the garden. It is situated beside the stream
and appears to be the perfect spot for fruit trees; they are growing fast
and in the spring give us a lovely display of pink and white blossom.
We have many different areas for our guests to enjoy, terraces that are perfect
for drinks and canapés and benches in all the best vantage points whether
it be in our ‘shady glen’ or inches away from the stream.
